Farmers in the Colebrook area of Tasmania are campaigning for the Greater South East Irrigation Scheme to include their properties in the quest for water to drought proof their farms.

The local farmers met this week to endorse a plan to try and get irrigation water to the area, which so far has no irrigation in the planning for the extension to what will be the biggest Irrigation Scheme in the state.

Barry Curtain has an irrigated property at Campania, but also has a property at Colebrook which has no irrigation.

He told Tony Briscoe that needs to change, as he has cattle which can use both properties to reach their potential
