It is the middle of May and some farms in Darwin's rural area are already picking green (unripe) mangoes and sending them to the Sydney Markets.
Kevin Trieu from Southern Asia Produce said first grade mangoes were fetching up to $15 a kilogram, but Northern Territory fruit were facing increased competition from Vietnamese imports.
Speaking to ABC Rural, Mr Trieu said NT mangoes seem to arrive earlier each year.
